How it works
A distribution service between your voucher systems and your retail partners.
You keep voucher generation in your own systems. Our service stores the vouchers encrypted and lets merchants retrieve them individually through an integration. Your commercial team establishes the retail partnerships; we take care of the technical chain with the partner's IT, from set-up to go-live, and monitor the operation 24/7.
The model in four steps
- You create the vouchers.Your business creates the voucher codes for its products or services.
- We store them encrypted. The vouchers are held in encrypted form within the distribution service.
- Merchants retrieve them individually.Your retail partners retrieve individual vouchers through the agreed integration.
- Every day you see what was retrieved and cancelled.A daily reconciliation report: through the API for each partner, through the API or as a CSV download for you. A retrieval is not a confirmed sale.
The timing of retrieval, the retail sale process and each party's responsibilities are defined when we scope the integration.
A clear division of work
| Your team | Our service | Your retail partner |
|---|---|---|
| Creates the vouchers | Stores vouchers encrypted | Retrieves individual vouchers |
| Agrees retail partnerships and commercial terms | Works with the partner's IT from set-up to go-live | Connects us with its IT team or till supplier |
| Defines the product and commercial objectives | Monitors the operation 24/7; someone is always available | Takes part in testing and the agreed retail process |
Your commercial team stays responsible for the retail relationships and terms. The integration plan defines the work required from your IT team, the merchant and any system suppliers.
Define the operation before launch
Together we establish how vouchers reach the service, how the merchant retrieves them and how technical issues will be handled. We clarify the responsibilities for activation, redemption, cancellations, reporting and any other processes relevant to your product.
Before you sign, this costs you nothing: integration support, technical talks with the partner's IT and sandbox access are free. Each agreement is tailor-made and sets out what each party provides and the service level. Timelines depend on the partner's systems and readiness.
IT brief
Kupon Plus: IT brief for digital voucher distribution
Purpose
Your business is considering distributing its digital content or vouchers through third-party retail partners. This brief outlines the service model and the questions for a technical review.
You build the retail partnerships. We make them work.
Confirmed model
- The issuer generates voucher codes in its own systems.
- The provider stores the vouchers encrypted.
- Merchants retrieve the vouchers individually through an integration.
- The provider carries out the integration work with each partner's IT, from set-up to go-live, and monitors the operation 24/7.
- The client's commercial team agrees the retail partnerships and commercial terms.
- No payments, settlements or buyer accounts pass through the provider.
- The provider supplies a daily reconciliation report of retrieved and cancelled codes: through the API for each partner, and through the API or as a CSV download for the issuer.
The service supports the technical and operational connection between the parties. The integration scope defines the work needed from the issuer, merchant and any system suppliers.
Support is the core of the service
We do not sell software. We provide support for the whole chain: technical talks and sandbox testing before any agreement; integration with each retail partner's IT team or till supplier from set-up to go-live, however long it takes; and, for the whole agreement, 24/7 monitoring with someone always available and a response-time service level written into the agreement. Each new partner follows the same path.
For your compliance team
- Outside the money flow. The buyer pays the retail partner, and the partner settles with the issuer under their agreement. The provider takes no payments, holds no balances and does not see settlements.
- No buyer accounts or identity checks. The provider does not register buyers or verify their identity.
- Encrypted codes, released one at a time. Codes are stored encrypted and released one at a time to an authenticated partner system.
This summary describes what the provider does and what does not pass through it. Assessing the product and market stays with the issuer's compliance team.
Information to bring
- The product represented by the voucher and the intended markets.
- The intended retail partner and the status of the commercial agreement.
- The business owner and technical contacts for both parties.
- Your voucher-generation process and how you expect to supply codes.
- The merchant's systems or till supplier and intended retrieval process.
- Relevant operational constraints and support requirements.
Questions to resolve together
- When does the merchant retrieve a code relative to the retail transaction?
- Who controls activation, expiry, redemption, cancellation and refunds?
- What happens if a request fails or the merchant loses the response? Current response and error behaviour is documented in the API reference; handling of a repeated request after a lost response is settled for each partner.
- Which authentication, access and encryption arrangements apply? Confirmed: codes are stored encrypted by the service. Key handling and access to decrypted codes for your dataset are settled in the review.
- What information is recorded, reported and retained, and who can access it?
- Which systems confirm a retail sale, and how is it distinguished from code retrieval?
- How are test access, acceptance checks and live deployment arranged?
- Who handles incidents, changes and ongoing support on each side?
- What export and end-of-service arrangements are required?
Before and after signing
- Before any agreement, free of charge: integration support, technical talks with the partner's IT and sandbox access.
- Under the agreement: set-up to go-live with each partner, however long it takes; 24/7 monitoring, and someone always available to your team and your partners. Response times and escalation are set out in the agreement.
- Service level: 99% of voucher requests answered within 2 seconds and 95% within 0.5 seconds, written into the agreement. Measured at our API as our processing time for each voucher request; network time and the partner's till are not included. The agreement defines the measurement period, which requests count and what applies if the level is not met.
These points form part of the technical and service review. This brief does not specify support response times, an availability figure, a security certification, a launch deadline or a financial result; these form part of the service review.
Next step: request a free integration review
Free of charge and before any agreement. Provide your company, technical role, distribution use case, intended partners and questions, and we arrange sandbox access. Include the internal business owner so that the technical review stays connected to the commercial objective.
Do not send production voucher codes, passwords or access credentials with an initial enquiry.
For retail partners
Connecting your systems to voucher distribution
If an issuer has approached you about distributing its vouchers, we work with your technical team or till supplier on the connection to our service, from set-up to go-live. Before anything is signed, the technical talks and sandbox access are free of charge. The issuer creates the vouchers. The service stores them encrypted. Your system retrieves individual vouchers through the agreed integration.
Your commercial agreement with the issuer defines the retail relationship. The technical review defines the connection, the testing and the support responsibilities.
Bring your system or till supplier's contact, the intended product and market, your proposed retail process and any technical constraints. Together we clarify retrieval, failures, cancellations, which work on the till side your team or your supplier carries, and the steps required before live operation.
